UN report: Israel's August evacuation orders affect 250,000 in Gaza

The evacuation orders issued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in August, demanding civilians to leave populated areas in the Gaza Strip, have affected approximately 250,000 Palestinians, according to Report, citing the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"As of August 21, evacuation orders published this month have affected about 250,000 residents of Gaza," the OCHA report states.

The document notes that from August 1 to 22, the Israeli army issued 13 evacuation orders affecting Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis. Three such orders were given on August 21 and 22 alone, leading to the displacement of an additional 28,500 people. These individuals have taken shelter in 146 refugee camps operating in the enclave, as per UN data.
The report's authors point out that the evacuation orders have also resulted in the forced displacement of UN staff, non-governmental organizations, and humanitarian workers.
