UN headquarters preparing to welcome world leaders

Serious preparations are underway for the High-level Week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) at UN headquarters in New York, the US bureau of Report informs.

Security measures have been strengthened at the session, which begins on September 19. The building hosted meetings of country leaders and government representatives, as well as the media, and special pavilions were created for the activities of representatives.

During the week of September 19, the presidents of Brazil and the US will first speak at the rostrum of the General Assembly. Traditionally, during the session, world leaders and government representatives will hold bilateral meetings and take part in various discussions.

UN officials estimate that this year’s session, which will feature leaders from more than 100 countries, will attract a record number of participants for the first time since the pandemic.

The Azerbaijani delegation will also take part in the 78th session of the Assembly.
