Azerbaijan is a strategic partner of Ukraine, and it is once again reflected in the country's foreign policy strategy, the Chairman of the Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament, MP Marian Zablotsky, told Report, while commenting on Ukraine's cooperation with Azerbaijan within the framework of the document signed by Volodymyr Zelensky on Ukraine's foreign policy strategy.
According to the Ukrainian MP, this decree clarifies the true nature of relations between states and peoples: "It is noteworthy that the activities of inter-parliamentary ties, in particular the intensive work of inter-parliamentary friendship, contributes to the development of relations between the countries.
In addition, in recent years, the United Diaspora of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine, headed by Hikmet Javadov, has played an active role in the social and political life of Ukraine.
Since gaining independence, our countries have established not only friendly relations - the common problems allowed Kyiv and Baku to become allies, supporting each other in difficult periods of their history."
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee noted that this tendency found its continuation in close cooperation within GUAM, in solidarity voting, and "it is quite logical to see Azerbaijan as a strategic partner of Ukraine, which will undoubtedly contribute to the further development of relations between the countries."
The document "On the Strategy of Ukraine's Foreign Policy" approved by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky approved the relations of the strategic partnership with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In relations with Azerbaijan, special attention will be paid to energy cooperation and the creation of conditions for expanding the activities of Ukrainian business in Azerbaijan, in particular, attracting legal entities of Ukraine in the implementation of infrastructure and other projects.
