Ukraine to receive 1 million doses of Pfizer vaccine under COVAX

"Ukraine will supply 1 million doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine," Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine told Viktor Liashko in an interview with Hromadske.

According to him, official Kiev has received approval from COVAX to allocate 1 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Lyashko noted that the drug should be delivered to Ukraine in tranches by the end of June.

He also announced how many COVID-19 vaccines would be delivered to the country soon. According to the doctor, the Ukrainian side received 500,000 doses of the vaccine Covishield (AstraZeneca coronavirus produced in India).

"According to the agreement, 1 million doses were to be delivered by the end of March. Then 500,000 and 1 million doses. There is a temporary ban on the export of vaccines in India, but we are not in a hurry. Since now a new vaccine is imported from the same platform."

Vaccination of the population of Ukraine with the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine against coronavirus began on February 24.
