The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced its second drone strike this week on the Saky military airfield, as well as strikes on the Hvardiiske airfield in occupied Crimea, Report informs via the SBU press service.
According to the Ukrainian intelligence service, seven hangars were hit at the Saky airfield, housing Su-30SM and Su-30 fighter jets, and Su-24 frontline bombers. The SBU claims that at least seven aircraft were destroyed or damaged in the strike.
It was also noted that two hangars were hit at the Hvardiiske airfield, which, according to the SBU, housed Shahed drones and aviation equipment.
On July 1, the Security Service of Ukraine announced a successful strike on the Saky military airfield in Crimea, which hit hangars housing Russian fighter jets.
The SBU stated that the Saky and Hvardiiske airfields are among the key air bases for Russian troops in Crimea. According to the Ukrainian side, tactical aircraft regularly depart from these airfields to carry out missile and air strikes on Ukrainian territory, as well as to support Russian forces in the southern direction.
