Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has handed over a completed questionnaire to the head of the EU delegation in Kyiv, which is a necessary step for Ukraine to obtain a status of a candidate for EU membership, Report informs referring to TASS.
"President Volodymyr Zelensky has handed the completed by our state questionnaire over to the head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas to obtain the status of a candidate for EU membership," the message on the website of the Ukrainian president says.
On April 8, President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, handed over a questionnaire to Zelensky at a press conference in Ukraine, the completion of which will allow the EC to recommend to the EU Council to begin discussions on the start of the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU, and promised "to help fill it out not within a few years, but within weeks”.
