UK to help Denmark investigate damage to Nord Stream

British Prime Minister Liz Truss met with her Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen to discuss London's assistance in investigating the damage to the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.

Report informs citing RBC-Ukraine that Frederiksen briefed the Prime Minister on the damage caused to the Nord Stream gas pipeline last week. They agreed that the incidents were clearly an act of sabotage and discussed a joint investigation into the incidents, the Truss office said in a statement.

The politicians also discussed the prospects for cooperation in the development of wind energy and national security.

The leaders agreed that the security of the Baltic Sea is in everyone's interest, the statement said.

On September 27, Russian gas supplies via Nord Stream, the main route for gas exports from Russia to Europe, were completely halted. According to the Danish and Swedish authorities, two gas leaks were discovered at Nord Stream and one at Nord Stream 2 near Bornholm Island. Germany, Denmark and Sweden do not rule out targeted sabotage.
