UK to cancel mandatory wearing of masks

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed plans to lift COVID restrictions in the UK after July 19: wearing masks will no longer be mandatory, nightclubs will open, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

The government took this step, despite the statements of scientists about the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic. The authorities admitted a sharp increase in infections but noted that mainly people under 40 are now infected with coronavirus, that is, those who have not yet received a second dose of the vaccine or have not been vaccinated at all.

The government also notes that the daily mortality rate remains consistently low with an increase in infection cases. Until July 19, the government intends to vaccinate almost all adults in the country.
