UAE expresses interest in expanding cooperation with BRICS countries

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is interested in expanding cooperation with BRICS member countries and partners, UAE Deputy Prime Minister Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum said during an Outreach/BRICS Plus meeting in Kazan, Russia, Report informs.

"One of the most important topics at today's meeting concerns strengthening cooperation with friendly BRICS countries in various areas such as investment, sustainable development, and transport security," he said.

Al Maktoum noted that in this regard, the UAE emphasizes the necessity of expanding cooperation with BRICS partner countries and sees this as an opportunity for developing a common economic strategy.

"In today's world, multilateralism is not an alternative but a necessity, as the challenges we face in economic, climate, social, and other areas require joint efforts," the Deputy Prime Minister stated.

He also emphasized that the UAE supports BRICS' plans to expand cooperation with other countries.

Al Maktoum also highlighted the importance of stopping military operations in the Middle East, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

"We call for ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need in the Gaza Strip without any conditions. Regarding the situation around Lebanon, tension must be reduced, and we call for an immediate ceasefire in this region," he added.
