Senior officials from the United Arab Emirates and Iran responsible for national security affairs have held their first face-to-face meeting since the start of the US-Israeli military operation against the Islamic Republic.
According to Report, citing Bloomberg, the talks took place this week and were seen as a significant signal of possible de-escalation amid growing recognition on both sides of the need for more stable and constructive bilateral relations.
It is noted that the initiative largely came from Abu Dhabi, which is seeking to reduce tensions and restore dialogue with Tehran.
Sources familiar with the matter said that the UAE authorities are currently focused on minimizing risks to the country's economy and national security. This approach, according to the report, contrasts with the tougher stance Abu Dhabi adopted during the early stages of the conflict.
