Two UN peacekeepers wounded in blasts near UNIFIL headquarters in Lebanon

Two United Nations peacekeepers were injured in explosions near the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the town of Naqoura, marking the second such incident in the last 48 hours, Report informs via UNIFIL press service.

"Two peacekeepers were injured after explosions occurred near an observation tower. They have been hospitalized," the statement said.

Following the blasts, an Israeli army bulldozer reportedly demolished barriers at UNIFIL positions near the Israel-Lebanon border, and tanks subsequently appeared in close proximity to the UN positions.

"Our peacekeepers remained at the site, and UNIFIL rapid response forces were dispatched to assist and reinforce the positions," the statement added.
