Two Israelis were hit by gunfire in a “security incident” on the Egyptian border on June 3 morning, the military said, Report informs referring to The Times of Israel.

Hours later, the Israel Defense Forces said there was a new exchange of fire in the area

The initial incident occurred near Mount Sagi in the Negev desert. The circumstances were under investigation by the military.

“This morning there was a security incident in the Paran Regional Brigade area,” IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari told reporters.

“In the incident, there are two casualties. The IDF is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and will update further details later,” he added.

Further details were not immediately cleared for publication. IDF troops were at the scene and carrying out searches.
