Türkiye offers to mediate Palestine-Israel conflict resolution

In a recent interview with Sky News Arabia, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed Türkiye's willingness to act as a guarantor in resolving the long-standing conflict between Palestine and Israel. Fidan warned that failure to reach a swift resolution based on the two-state solution would inevitably lead to a fourth war in the Gaza Strip.

"If the Palestinian issue is not settled promptly on the basis of the two-state solution, a fourth Gaza war will be unavoidable. We will constantly have to deal with wars," Fidan stated. The foreign minister also pointed out that Israel, particularly under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is not interested in a ceasefire in Gaza as "it does not align with its political objectives." "The Americans and the West agree with this," he added.

Fidan also emphasized that Türkiye is ready to become one of the guarantors in case an agreement is reached to settle the conflict based on the principle of two independent states.
