Turkish military base in Iraq subjected to missile attack

The Turkish military base Zlikan, located in the Ninewa province in northern Iraq, was attacked on Wednesday by missiles, the Iraqi news portal Shafaq News said, Report informs via TASS.

About eight missiles were fired at the base in the morning, according to a security source. Iraqi security forces began searching for the launch site.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Kurdistan Anti-Terrorism Directorate reported that two missiles fell inside the base, the rest fell outside it. There were no casualties. Information about possible damage is not given.

Zlikan, as well as another Turkish base near the village of El-Amadia, 15 km from the border with Turkiye, periodically become the target of various kinds of attacks. Often the victims of such attacks are Turkish soldiers.
