The United States and Iran have agreed on a roadmap aimed at reaching a final agreement within 60 days during negotiations held in Switzerland, as stated in a joint declaration issued by the foreign ministries of Qatar and Pakistan, which acted as mediators between the two sides.

According to Report, the document notes that the meeting took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere and produced encouraging results, including the establishment of a mechanism for subsequent technical negotiations. The parties also agreed to create a high-level committee that will provide political oversight of the mediation process.

"The high-level committee agreed on a roadmap for achieving a final agreement within 60 days, creating the basis for the immediate launch of the next round of technical negotiations. In addition, within the timeframe specified in Paragraph 5 of the Memorandum of Understanding, a communication line has been established between the parties to prevent incidents and misunderstandings and to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz," the statement said.

Furthermore, in order to ensure compliance with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the parties agreed to establish conflict-prevention groups with the support of the mediators.

"The mediators will continue to make every effort to ensure that further negotiations take place in a constructive atmosphere with the aim of reaching a final agreement," the joint statement by the Qatari and Pakistani foreign ministries added.

In turn, Qatar's Prime Minister's Advisor and Foreign Ministry Spokesman Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari reported that the parties have formed specialized technical teams to negotiate the terms of the final agreement.

In addition, monitoring groups have been established to ensure compliance with the memorandum's provisions.

According to the diplomat, this reflects the commitment of all parties to advance the negotiation process in good faith.

Al-Ansari also praised Pakistan's role as a partner and mediator, Washington's and Tehran's commitment to diplomatic solutions, and the support for the negotiation process provided by Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye.
