Tokayev: Unsettled border issue - destabilizing factor

One of the destabilizing factors is the unresolved issue of borders between individual countries of the region, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the Russia-Central Asia summit, Report informs.

He noted that the issue of borders should be resolved exclusively by peaceful means, in the spirit of centuries-old friendship, trust, good neighborliness, as well as strict observance of the principles of international law and the UN Charter.

According to the president, in the modern world, the importance of interaction to prevent negative phenomena in the information space is growing. Thus, in order to stop attempts to sow discord, relevant departments and public organizations need to establish closer cooperation and more actively conduct explanatory work.

“Unfortunately, in some countries there are provocative statements against heads of state, accusations that are unfounded. And this, of course, poisons the atmosphere of our cooperation,” he said.
