Two killed in collapse of hotel in China

At least two people died, and ten more are under rubble as a result of the collapse of a two-story hotel in Shanxi province in Northern China, according to China Central Television.

According to the TV channel, the incident occurred at 09:40 local time (04:40 GMT) in Xiangfen County of Linfen city. As a result of the collapse, "a lot of people remain under the debris."

As of midnight local time, rescuers managed to extract 23 people from the rubble, two of them died. At least ten other people are currently being searched.

The cause and details of the incident have not yet been reported, and an investigation is underway.
