Tashkent and Beijing sign protocol on Uzbekistan's accession to WTO

Tashkent and Beijing have signed a protocol on the completion of bilateral negotiations on Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Report informs that the document was signed following the talks between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

The presidents held talks on Tuesday in Astana within the framework of the China-Central Asia Summit.

According to the press service of Mirziyoyev, the parties noted the dynamically developing trade and economic cooperation: "In 2024, the trade turnover reached $14 billion. The portfolio of investment projects exceeds $60 billion."

"Joint technoparks and special industrial zones are successfully operating in the regions of Uzbekistan, and the production of BYD electric cars is expanding," the presidential press service noted.
