Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, speaking on September 7 at the military parade in honor of the 30th anniversary of the republic’s independence, has called on the military to increase combat readiness in an unstable situation in the region, Report informs with reference to TASS.
The president noted that the recent situation in the region and the world has caused serious concern due to the expansion of terrorist, extremist and radical organizations, interreligious conflicts, drug trafficking, weapons, cybercrime, and other transnational organized crimes.
“In these conditions, the leadership of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and especially the border troops must take all necessary measures to ensure the protection of the state border, public and state security, the peaceful life of the people and maintain a high level of combat readiness of military units and subunits,” Rahmon stressed. He added that, according to forecasts, the situation in the region and in some countries might be even more acute and tense.
