Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani raised his country's new flag at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, Report informs via SANA.
"This step was not just symbolic, but also a tribute to the memory of the Syrian people, as well as a symbol of its victory," he said in an interview with Al Jazeera TV channel.
According to the diplomat, Syrians had been waiting for this step for 14 years.
The green-white-black flag with three red stars was officially adopted by the country's new government after Ahied al-Sharaa came to power.
