Syrian elections marred by terrorist attack on police station

In a brazen attempt to disrupt Syria's parliamentary elections, a group of terrorists launched an attack on a police station in Es-Suwayda, located in the southwestern region of the country. The incident occurred on Monday during the nationwide voting process.

Governor Akram Ali Mohamed of Es-Suwayda, speaking to journalists after casting his own vote, confirmed the attack but dispelled rumors of fatalities. He stated, "One law enforcement officer was injured and is currently receiving medical attention."

Despite the violence, the governor emphasized that the "electoral process in Es-Suwayda continues at a good pace, and we hope this will continue."
