The Malaysian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish Ambassador to the country, Joachim Bergström, and condemned the recent desecration of the Koran in Stockholm, Report informs.
The ministry reaffirmed Malaysia's objection and frustration with the Swedish government, which has allowed repeated actions to desecrate the Koran under the pretext of freedom of speech.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry reportedly called on the Swedish government to "review the failure to implement equal freedom of speech and take urgent and necessary action to put an end to structured Islamophobia."
