Suspect detained in New Caledonia over murder during riots

Police in New Caledonia have detained a man suspected of killing two people during unrest, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said, Report informs referring to France 2 TV channel.

“Fortunately, as far as I know, there were no more deaths. At the same time, the police detained the person responsible for the death of two Kanaks,” he noted.

“206 citizens were detained,” he added.
