Stomach flu outbreak forces Finnish parliament staff to work remotely

Staff members of the Finnish Parliament, along with all employees not required to be physically present, have been instructed to work remotely following an outbreak of stomach flu, according to Report, which cites Yle.

"The outbreak occurred last night and this morning, with around ten reported cases. As a precautionary measure, officials have been informed that all those not required to be in the building today will work remotely," Vice Speaker of Parliament Paula Risikko said.

On March 12, one of the parliamentary restaurants was closed due to the outbreak.

However, the remote work directive does not apply to members of Parliament. The legislature continues to operate as usual, with all scheduled sessions proceeding without interruption, Risikko clarified.
