The parties discussed support for the unity of the European Union and NATO, as well as the situation around Ukraine. The meeting participants discussed the proposal of Prime Minister Kallas on how to jointly and quickly purchase a million artillery shells for Ukraine for 4 billion euros.

“The European Union was able to respond quickly and innovatively together to the COVID crisis. It’s time to show the same smartness and speed in sending ammunition to Ukraine,” Kallas said at a meeting in Tallinn.

She also noted that, in addition to supporting Ukraine, it is important that the European defense industry be able to produce in a volume that corresponds to the changed security situation.

“Gray zones in European security should become a thing of the past, because they create instability and lead to war. Therefore, Estonia supports Ukraine’s entry into both the European Union and NATO after the war,” the prime minister emphasized.
