At present, NATO is not a direct participant in the conflict in Ukraine and has set itself the task of avoiding a direct confrontation with Russia, the damage of which cannot be compared with the current results, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told a press conference, Report informs.
"In the event of a full-scale war between Russia and NATO, we will see greater suffering and destruction. Therefore, NATO has two tasks: one of them is to help Ukraine. But we also have a responsibility to prevent escalation beyond Ukraine's borders. Therefore, NATO is not a party to the conflict on earth," Stoltenberg said.
