Spanish police detain dozens of people in protests over rapper's arrest

In Spain, 49 people were arrested in a demonstration against the arrest of rapper Pablo Hasel over accusations of promoting terrorism, Report states, citing the El Periodico newspaper.

The police detained protesters during riots in central Barcelona and Madrid, as well as in the provinces of Catalonia and Granada.

The rally in the capital began in the central square of Puerta del Sol. Aggressive protesters started throwing various objects at the police and damaging the city. As a result, the policemen had to use force with a truncheon. According to the ABC newspaper, law enforcement officers used tear gas against the protesters.

The Europa Press reports that nine people were injured during the clashes in Madrid.
