The Spanish government has decided to temporarily suspend the issuance of golden visas to Russian citizens, the Spanish Foreign Ministry said, Report informs, citing TASS.
Golden visas give the opportunity to obtain a residence permit in this country for citizens of states that are not part of the EU, in exchange for large investments.
On its part, the ABC newspaper, citing government sources, reported that Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares ordered a few days ago to temporarily stop issuing these visas to Russian citizens, as well as to suspend applications already under consideration. This decision was made against the backdrop of EU sanctions due to the situation around Ukraine.
