Shmyhal: Partial opening of skies over Ukraine impossible due to security situation

It is currently impossible to partially open the airspace over Ukraine due to security concerns, Ukraine's Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

"We have conducted a risk assessment and determined the needs for air defense forces and means for partial opening of airspace," he said.

According to the head of government, security issues and the military situation remain key factors for this decision.

"That is why it is important for us to develop alternative routes for cargo delivery and passenger movement. We are talking about land borders, road and rail transport," said Shmyhal.

According to his data, during Russian attacks, aviation infrastructure was damaged, with at least 15 civilian airports affected. Air traffic has been suspended since the beginning of Russia's military actions in Ukraine.
