President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has announced that a 4,050-meter-high mountain peak has been named the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Peak."
Acording to Report's correspondent in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz leader said at the SCO Plus high-level meeting that the peak was named in honor of the SCO's 25th anniversary.
"May this peak become a symbol that true cooperation should be strong, majestic and forward-looking. The SCO Peak is a peak of friendship among peoples, a peak of peace and a peak of our common future," the Kyrgyz president said.
He noted that over the past quarter-century, the SCO has made a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation and stability in the region.
