Russian Foreign Ministry: Moscow to take retaliatory measures over Finland’s entry into NATO

Finland’s accession to NATO will have a negative impact on Russian-Finnish relations, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs referring to TASS.

“In connection with Finland’s entry into NATO, the Russian Federation will have to take retaliatory measures of a military-technical and other nature in order to stop any threats,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The statement notes that Finland has become one of the small, insignificant NATO member countries, having lost its special voice in international affairs: “By joining NATO, Finland has renounced its self-identity and any independence.”
