Russian Foreign Ministry: France pursuing hypocritical colonial policy, has no right to dictate terms to others

Russia has repeatedly noted the unacceptability of the methods used by French law enforcement agencies and the military in relation to the indigenous population, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said answering a question from News.ru, Report informs.

"The international community notes that the process of decolonization is not complete," she said.

Zakharova noted that Paris is not objective in its assessments of elections in other countries.

"Look at the concern, alarm and obvious mania with which Paris assesses elections in this or that country, how it assesses the state of freedom of speech in this or that region of the world. This is the territory for which they, in their own words, are responsible. Look at what is happening there. They are not ready to answer for what they themselves are doing," she said.

She emphasized that socio-economic tensions persist in France's overseas territories, and instead of eradicating the root cause of the problems, the French authorities have decided to organize mass political repressions.

"Until they fix the problems in their own country, either at home or in the territories for which they are responsible, why do they have the right to lecture others and condemn others?" she added.
