Russia declared 10 Norwegian diplomats personae non gratae in a tit-for-tat move, the Norwegian Foreign Ministry told the Norwegian National Radio (NRK), according to Report.
The country's ambassador to Moscow Robert Kvile noted he was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry earlier today and informed of the decision.
"It would be a big surprise if they responded in a different way," he stated after visiting the ministry. Meanwhile, the ministry stressed that Kvile was told other measures could follow as a result of Oslo's 'unfriendly actions.'
Earlier this month, Norway expelled 15 Russian diplomats.
