Rockets from Yemen hit Israel: Tel Aviv launches retaliatory strikes

Israel was struck by rockets fired from Yemen, targeting central regions, Report informs, referring to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The IDF reported that alarms were sounded in several central areas after the launch from Yemen, and the rocket was neutralized before crossing the border.

The Israeli publication N12 also announced that shrapnel from the neutralized rockets damaged several cars and a school building in Ramat Gan, although no injuries were reported.

Following the attack, the Houthi-controlled satellite channel al-Masirah revealed that the Israeli Air Force conducted several retaliatory airstrikes on the outskirts of Sana'a and in the Yemeni province of Hodeidah. The targets included central power plants in the south and north of the Yemeni capital and oil facilities in Hodeidah, causing significant fires.

Axios correspondent Barak Ravid, citing an American official, noted that the Jewish state had warned the United States in advance about the Israeli army's strikes on Yemen. The Israeli army confirmed that it had carried out strikes on Houthi military facilities in Yemen, targeting the coastal strip and areas deeper inside the country.

The IDF stated, "The strikes weaken the Houthi regime and prevent it from using infrastructure for military and terrorist purposes, including smuggling Iranian weapons into the region."
