Repairs to damaged Estlink 2 power cable between Estonia, Finland start

Repair of the damaged Estlink 2 power cable between Estonia and Finland has begun in the Gulf of Finland, Fingrid energy company representative Kimmo Nepola told Helsingin Sanomat newspaper, Report informs via Interfax.

The cable repair work will continue until the end of July, he said.

Nepola noted that the cable repair is estimated to cost tens of millions of euros, with expenses to be split equally between Fingrid and Estonian transmission system operator Elering.
