Rare tornado in Czech Republic kills five people

The number of victims of the tornado that struck Brzeclav and Hodonin in the South Moravian Region in the southeast of the Czech Republic has increased to five, Report informs, citing the Czech Radio.

In connection with the tornado, firefighters declared a third-degree emergency in the regions of Brzeclav and Hodonin. According to the chief physician of the hospital, Godonin, from 150 to 200 people were admitted to the hospital after the disaster. There may be people under the ruins of houses.

A rare tornado believed to be the most devastating in the Czech Republic’s modern history has torn through the country's southeast, killing at least five people and injuring hundreds, rescue services and police said on Friday.
