Quarters around US Capitol cordoned off due to bomb threat

Police have cordoned off several quarters around the Capitol in the center of Washington due to a suspicious vehicle near the Library of the Congress.

Report informs, citing RIA Novosti, that the territory is guarded by officers, who ask the pedestrians to use alternative routes.

Journalists are working at the intersection of Street 1 and Constitution Avenue, northwest of Capitol Hill, many miles away from the suspicious vehicle.

Earlier, the Capitol police reported an active threat of an explosion near the Library of the Congress in the center of Washington. They called on the pedestrians to avoid this area.
