If Ukraine does not allow the transit of Russian gas through its territory, a conflict situation may arise between the two countries, Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico wrote on Facebook, Report informs via Interfax.
"If Zelenskyy doesn't let our gas through, a serious conflict could begin," Fico noted.
Slovakia has united its gas industry companies and those from neighboring countries - suppliers, consumers, and gas pipeline operators from Austria, Hungary, and Italy - to support the continuation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine.
Slovakia receives Russian gas via Ukraine. Gazprom's long-term transit contract with Naftogaz Ukraine expires this year, and the Ukrainian side has repeatedly declared that it does not intend to extend it.
