Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan discuss bilateral relations

Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, have discussed issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations in a phone call.

Report informs via Uzbek media Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday, sincerely wishing him good health, well-being and great success, peace and prosperity to the brotherly Turkmen people.

The sides discussed the further development and strengthening of the Uzbek-Turkmen strategic partnership, and underlined the intensive political dialogue and productive interdepartmental contacts, including within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission.

The parties also noted the growth in mutual trade, deepening cooperation in the field of energy and transport, interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchange.

The heads of state also considered topical aspects of the regional agenda and the schedule of joint events.
