A tsunami reaching up to one meter in height has struck the coast of Japan's Miyazaki Prefecture after a strong earthquake rocked the island of Kyushu.
According to Report, which cites NHK, a Japanese public broadcaster, the tsunami wave was recorded at approximately 50 centimeters high.
Authorities are now warning that tsunami waves reaching up to one meter are also expected to hit the coast of Ehime Prefecture on the island of Shikoku.

Seismologists have cautioned that tsunami waves reaching up to 1 meter in height could potentially impact the coastlines of Miyazaki and Kochi prefectures. Initial reports suggest that the first waves may have already reached the shores of the affected regions.
