Polish Sejm speaker notes deterioration in ties with Ukraine

Speaker of the Polish Sejm Wlodzimierz Czarzasty has noted a deterioration in Polish-Ukrainian relations, Report informs via Ukrainian media.

He made the remarks during an official meeting with Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk in the Polish city of Szczawnica.

In this context, Czarzasty condemned any forms of improper treatment both by Poles and Ukrainians.

In his speech, the speaker of the Polish parliament also described Ukraine's Polish Sejm speaker notes deterioration in ties with Ukrainerecognition of the genocide of Poles in Volyn as a condition for joining the European Union.

"Ukraine's accession to the EU will require Ukrainians to rethink all aspects of their history. Because the EU is democracy, it is values… This also means calling genocide genocide. This is history. No nation can escape history," he said.
