Polish PM convenes Visegrad Group due to migrant crisis

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki asked the Visegrad Group (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) to meet to discuss the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, Report informs via TASS.

“Tomorrow, Morawiecki will attend a new meeting of the Visegrad Group in Budapest. The prime minister asked the Visegrad Group to meet due to the current geopolitical situation,” said the press secretary of the Polish Government, Piotr Müller, without naming specific countries.

“We start with the countries of our region that are most threatened by geopolitical consequences,” he added.

On Sunday, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, and discussed the migration crisis on the border with Belarus. According to him, current events are part of a hybrid war, other elements of which are the situation in Ukraine and the rise in energy prices.
