Polish Defense Ministry to buy 1,700 reconnaissance UAVs

Poland’s Ministry of National Defense will purchase 1,700 reconnaissance drones, Report informs referring to the press service of the ministry.

“On September 5, during the 31st International Defense Industry Exhibition in Kielce, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, approved a framework agreement for the supply of FlyEye small unmanned aerial systems,” the message says.

The agreement concluded between the arms agency and the manufacturer WB Electronics S.A. “The agreement, which is valid until the end of 2035, provides for the acquisition of about 1,700 unmanned aerial vehicles of the latest versions under subsequent executive contracts.”

The contracts include logistics and training packages for UAV operators.

FlyEye mini-UAVs are designed for aerial image reconnaissance using optoelectronic systems equipped with cameras that provide image recording both in daylight and using thermal imaging.
