PACE summer session postponed

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has canceled its summer session due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The statement came from Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

"Today, the PACE Bureau's online meeting will decide the fate of the summer session of the assembly, which was originally supposed to be held these days," said PACE Vice-Speaker.

The next meetings of the Bureau and the Standing Committee will take place offline in Greece in September, he added.

It will be about preparing the autumn session of the assembly, which is scheduled for early October.

In March, the Council of Europe leadership decided to cancel the spring session of PACE due to an outbreak of coronavirus infection.
