Most people in France want borders within Shenghen to be restored to fight migration

Two-thirds of French support the restoration of borders of the Schengen area states for those residing outside of Europe, as a measure to combat illegal migration.

Report informs via Le Journal du Dimanche that, according to the publication, against the backdrop of the upcoming elections to the European Parliament, the issue of migration policy is becoming increasingly relevant. Thus, according to the results of the survey, 66% of French expressed the opinion that it is necessary to restore border controls within the Schengen area for those arriving from non-EU countries, while 33% of respondents opposed this initiative.

The idea is most strongly supported by citizens aged 50 to 64 (74%), while young people aged 18 to 24 are the least interested in such a decision (59%).
