Over 300 schools in Moldova suspend work due to weather conditions

The Chisinau Emergency Situations Commission (CSE) has decided to suspend educational activities in all schools in the capital, including art schools, Report informs referring to local media.

The decision is due to inclement weather conditions, including heavy snowfall that have made it difficult or impossible for students and staff to reach schools safely.

The CSE has also recommended that local authorities consider suspending educational activities in localities where access to schools is difficult or impossible due to the weather.

The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) has stated that it will work with schools to ensure that students receive the instruction they need. The MEC has also advised that employees should not be penalized if they arrive late for work due to the weather.
