Nyssanbayev: Developed countries must provide financial support to developing nations

Developed countries must primarily offer financial support to developing nations so that they can meet their climate commitments within the established deadlines. Such assistance is critically necessary, Yerlan Nyssanbayev, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, said during the International Climate Forum on Saturday.

Report quotes the minister as saying in the process of developing the country's strategy, they calculated the anticipated costs, and the amount turned out to be quite substantial — around $500 billion.

"This amount will be needed by 2060 to achieve the set goals. Undoubtedly, both the public and private sectors are already investing significant funds, but it is important to understand that without the involvement of international financial organizations, achieving these goals will be nearly impossible," the minister said.
