Number of Azerbaijanis seeking asylum in Germany drops

In November this year, 16 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan applied for asylum in Germany.

Report's European Bureau says three of them came to Germany due to family reunification, twice less than the previous month.

According to statistics from the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees in November, a total of 8,736 people applied for asylum in Germany last month. Syrians rank first among the asylum seekers with 2,986 applications, while Afghans and Iraqis took the second and third places, respectively.

The number of Turkish citizens seeking international protection in Germany decreased, while the number of Georgians increased.

According to the Geneva agreement, the number of foreigners seeking asylum in Germany last month was 2,977.
