The Norwegian authorities will hand over eight Leopard tanks to Ukraine, country's Minister of Defense Bjorn Arild Gram said at a meeting of the alliance defense ministers in Brussels.
"We decided to transfer eight tanks and up to four special-purpose vehicles to Ukraine. The decision to transfer was made after close dialogue both with the commander-in-chief and with other European countries. The war in Ukraine is approaching a critical phase, and they [the Armed Forces of Ukraine] depend on timely and substantial support. We will also promote the training of Ukrainian tankers in Poland together with other allied countries," he said.
