North Korean leader Kim Jong Un may visit Russia

Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, may visit Russia, Report informs via Yonhap, which released the information referring to South Korea's chief security advisor Cho Tae Yong.

In June 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un signed a Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement that includes military-technical cooperation.

According to Article 4 of the document, if one of the parties is drawn into war as a result of an armed attack, the other party undertakes to provide all possible military support, guided by Article 51 of the UN Charter and the domestic legislation of the countries.

Russia ratified the agreement on November 9, and North Korea ratified it three days later. The agreement enters into force from the date of exchange of ratification documents. The treaty will remain in force indefinitely.
